Speaker Bio

Danny practices in Cheltenham in the UK. He studied Five Element Acupuncture and TCM (including Chinese Herbal Medicine) at the College of Integrated Chinese Medicine (CICM, 1995-8).

Five Element Acupuncture is at the heart of his practice, supplemented with ongoing study of the ‘five element skills’ techniques of John Hicks. This is integrated, when needed, with TCM skills developed through clinical training with Ken Lloyd (1998-2005) and the Guangdong Second Provincial Chinese Medicine Hospital (2013). He has a particular interest in the Classics, and understanding point names, improved with a post-graduate diploma in Chinese/Mandarin (1998-99), a diploma in Classical Medical Chinese (Aowen Chinese Medicine, 2017-18), and the ongoing translation of Chinese Medical and Philosophical texts with Nicolaas Herman Oving. His treats many children and has a certificate in Paediatric Acupuncture from Julian Scott (2004-06). He has taught Acupuncture, Herbal Medicine and Nutrition at CICM since 2001 and has a post-graduate diploma in Academic Practice (PGCAP 2006-08).  He also teaches tai chi, qi gong, meditation and yangsheng, and has a level seven teaching certificate with Practical Tai Chi Chuan.
