Course Overview

This advanced course offers a thorough exploration of colorectal cancer from both Western and Chinese Medicine perspectives. Over 6 hours, participants will gain a profound understanding of colorectal cancer, encompassing aspects such as epidemiology, aetiology, pathogenesis, and risk factors, analysed through the lenses of both Western Medicine (WM) and Chinese Medicine (CM).

The course further explores the prevention, detection, and diagnostic procedures of colorectal cancer, highlighting unique insights from CM, including the significance of green tea and the differentiation between the large intestine and rectum in CM.

An extensive section on CRC treatment covers a range of therapies from surgical interventions to systemic and biological therapies, juxtaposing WM approaches with CM interpretations and treatments. This includes a focus on the side effects of chemotherapy, the role of checkpoint inhibitors, and the use of natural supplements like curcumin, providing a holistic view of patient care.
