Course Overview

Endometriosis is a complex disease with pain as the leading symptom limiting the quality of life of the affected women. Since the treatment options in conventional medicine are limited, women with endometriosis seek help from acupuncture and Chinese medicine.

Pain in women with endometriosis is a result of adherences, inflammation, and immunological response. Because of the complexity of the disease and the wide variety of symptoms, treatment of endometriosis must include the whole system of Chinese medicine, especially Chinese herbal medicine, acupuncture, dietary advice, and lifestyle and stress recommendations to ensure effective treatment. However, even when a complex intervention is required, the treatment strategy is rooted in the well-known theory of Chinese medicine.
Therefore, this course provides the basic understanding of endometriosis in conventional and Chinese medicine to develop strategies according to the different syndrome diagnoses including Ben and Biao of the disease. The systematic way of thinking will help practitioners to easily implement theory into practice.

Taking this course will deepen your understanding of this complex disease and assist you in selecting effective Chinese herbs and acupuncture treatment details according to the menstrual cycle. In addition, this course will cover details of additional key factors for effectiveness.
